Impulse Response
Impulse Response assets are used together with ambient zones available in the game engine plugins to simulate a room sound. Read more about the ambient zone for Unity or Unreal.
It is a convolution reverb that needs an impulse file. The impulse file is imported like any other sound asset, and any sound asset can be used as an impulse file. Notice that using recordings not intended as impulse files can create unwanted sounds and noises, but this can, however, be used as a means to modify your sound in unusual ways and create some exciting results.
- Create an IR asset (Impulse Response Asset) by right-clicking in the browser and selecting “Create new IR asset” or by clicking the “+” button in the lower-left corner and selecting the same option.
- Right-click on an IR asset to rename or remove it.
- Open an IR asset by double-clicking on it in the browser.
- The IR Asset has three fields:
- Impulse audio asset - drag the sound asset you want to use for the Impulse file from the browser to the grey area below the “Impulse audio asset” header.
- IR Length - Leave it at 0 to play the full file or set it in milliseconds for how long of the impulse file you want to play.
- IR Start Delay - Delay the start of the impulse response by specifying a Delay Start time in milliseconds.
