Arrangement and Stinger Simulation
Simulate Arrangement from Arrangement View
- To the far left in the top bar menu is the start/stop simulation button.
- Clicking the play button will start a simulation of the arrangement playing from State 1.
- Executing a segue to another state by clicking the play buttons appearing while hovering the pointer over a state number to the far left of each state row.
- Simulation can also start playback at a specific state by clicking on a state play button while the arrangement is not in simulation mode.
- Stop the simulation by clicking the play/stop button again. The button shows a stop symbol while in simulation.
- A state can be re-activated by clicking the play button on an already playing state. This will change variations on this state in the cases where more than one variation is available for a track.
Simulate Stinger from Stinger View
- Clicking the play button will start a simulation of the stinger playing from variation A or at random, depending on the selection strategy setting.
- Start playing a specific stinger by hovering the index letter to the left of the stinger slot, and then clicking the play symbol that appears.
- If an arrangement is simulating at the same time, the stingers will wait and trigger at the next available agility point, and play in sync with the arrangement's beats.

Arrangement Playback
- The Preview player is located in the preview tab in the far left work area, sharing the space with the asset browser and global parameters.
- Arrangement - Select the arrangement you want to preview.
- Template - Select a template or leave it at the default
- Affected Tracks - Select a specific track in the selected arrangement and make a state change exclusively for that track. Leave at all if you want all tracks to respond to the state changes.
- Jump to Bar - Jump to a specific bar in the selected arrangement during the next segue.
- Play Stinger with Segue - Select a stinger to play in the next segue you execute. Depending on the situation, the arrangement or the stinger can be master and decided which segue settings should be prioritized. This is set in the stinger asset under the “If Arrangement does a segue” section.
- Arrangement State - All available states in the currently selected arrangement will be listed in this section. Click on one of them to execute a segue to that state.
- Arrangement Bar - All available bars in the currently selected arrangement will be listed in this section. Click on one of them to execute a jump to that specific bar.
- Silence - Silence all the tracks but keep the preview running. Each track will make a segue to state 0, which has a hard-coded silent trigger on each track. Every track will follow its segue, agility, and fade settings and will stop playing accordingly.
- Stop - Stop the currently running preview without following any agility settings.
- Start - Start preview of the selected arrangement.
Stinger Playback
Play Stinger - Select a stinger and click the play button to play it at the first possible beat point its settings allow for.

Simulate Arrangement and Stingers from Patch
Using the conductor node together with the arrangement and stinger nodes inside a patch, you can preview them by simulating the patch. Read more about the music nodes here: Patch: All nodes
What makes this different from the other preview methods is that they are tools solely used inside the studio for previewing, while using a patch is the way to trigger music from the end application. Patches can be triggered and run from, e.g., a game engine, and are what will initiate the music playback.
