ELIAS STUDIO

Audio Assets
Audio Assets
- Add a sound asset to the studio by dragging a .wav file from the OS file browser to the browser window in the studio and dropping it.
- When the .wav file has been added to the Elias project it will be ingested and a compressed Ogg file is automatically created alongside it.
- A sound asset in the studio asset browser is not the actual sound file itself, but a reference to the ingested sound that contains the uncompressed WAV file, as well as the compressed OGG file.
- A common way to ingest files is to add the files directly to the project structure on disk. E.g., if you are working in your DAW and want to do a batch export of several files, you can do this directly somewhere in the folder structure above the Elias 4 project file. The .wav files will be ingested as soon as they are saved, and if the studio is running. If the studio is not running, the files will be ingested the next time the project is loaded.
- Notice that there is currently no progress bar while importing the file,s so please just be patient if you add longer files or many files at the same time.
- Also, notice that some DAWs:s (Digital Audio Workstations) create files in different ways, so the experience could be different depending on what DAW is being used.
Audio Assets Areas of Use
- Sound assets can be used in different places throughout the application:
- They can be added to the sound containers on a sound player node in a patch.
- As an impulse response file in the IR Assets.
- As a variation in an Arrangement Asset. Either drop them in a variation slot on the arrangement track and state grid, or in a variation slot in the timeline section.
- As a variation on a Stinger Asset.
Multi-selecting Audio Assets
- The behavior of multi-selecting and adding more than one audio file to different fields in the application:
- Multi-select sound assets and drag and drop them into a sound list on a sound player.
- Only one sound asset can be added as an impulse response in an IR asset, so only the first selected audio files will be added.
- Multi-select sound assets and drag and drop them into a variation slot in the track and state grid in the arrangement view will add them all as variations to that variation slot.
- Multi-select sound assets and drag and drop them into a variation slot in the timeline part of the arrangement view will add them all as variations to that variation slot. JAG TROR ATT NU LÄGGS DOM TILL SOM SEGMENT???
- Multi-select sound assets and drag and drop them into a stinger variation slot will add them all as stinger variations to the stinger asset.
